Many of us knew a Barack Obama presidency would be a disaster for America. However, the speed at which he is undermining and dismantling our freedom is astounding. Over the past week, he managed to sell us out to both the Europeans and Islamists in one weekend.
At the G-20 summit, Obama essentially gave European governments regulatory power over the lives of Americans.
Dick Morris gets it absolutely right when he describes this as a repeal of the Declaration of Independence.
On April 2, 2009, the work of July 4, 1776, was nullified at the meeting of the G-20 in London. The joint communiqué essentially announces a global economic union with uniform regulations and bylaws for all nations, including the United States. Henceforth, our SEC, Commodities Trading Commission, Federal Reserve Board and other regulators will have to march to the beat of drums pounded by the Financial Stability Board (FSB), a body of central bankers from each of the G-20 states and the European Union. The mandate conferred on the FSB is remarkable for its scope and open-endedness. It is to set a “framework of internationally agreed high standards that a global financial system requires.” These standards are to include the extension of “regulation and oversight to all systemically important financial institutions, instruments, and markets…[including] systemically important hedge funds.”…
The Europeans have been trying to get their hands on our financial system for decades. It is essential to them that they rein in American free enterprise so that their socialist heaven will not be polluted by vices such as the profit motive. Now, with President Obama’s approval, they have done it.
Where Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher helped spur an era of global capitalism, Obama and his new comrades are now ushering in an era of global socialism. Apparently none of them are aware of the history of the past 200 years.
But it gets worse. At the G-20 Obama bows before the “King” of Saudi Arabi, a Wahabbi tyrant, responsible for spreading the most virulent America-hating version of Islam. And on the day that North Koreans tested a missile in the hopes that it will be capable of reaching the U.S., Obama replied to this threat by calling for the unilateral disarmament of the United States!
This is what happens when you elect a hothouse liberal with the mentality of a college sophomore as President. He suffers from the pacifist delusion that if we would just “lay down our arms,” nutjobs like Kim Jong Il and Mahmoud Ahmadenijad would do the same.
No Barry, we want the good guys to have weapons, and lots of them, and the bad guys to have none.
Or as Mark Steyn put it:
“It’s a mean world and sometimes you need to be mean, if the alternative is Princess Fluffy Bunny pledging to surrender American nuclear weapons. This is an absurd position for the last superpower to be taking. It’s doing great damage and poses a great danger.”
And it gets worse still. Addressing the Turkish parliament on April 6, Obama asserted:
“We will convey our deep appreciation for the Islamic faith, which has done so much over so many centuries to shape the world for the better, including my own country.”
I saw the part where they killed 3,000 Americans and knocked our tallest buildings down, but I must have missed the part where Muslims shaped the United States of America — and indeed the world — for the better.
While Obama tries to control American industries through the fascist variant of socialism, he pursues global socialism to subject us to “international” controls. And he continues to pursue vast new environmentalist controls as well as socialized medicine. All the while gutting defense, apologizing and kowtowing to our enemies, and generally following the path of dying and corrupt European socialist states.
If socialism, appeasement, and anti-Americanism is what Obama voters wanted, they are getting it on steriods. Talk about The Manchurian Candidate.
